√Unique British sports car marque goes into administration

After almost four decades of manufacturing everything from kit cars to autonomous vehicles, Westfield Sports Cars has fallen into administration.

British manufacturer Westfield Sports Cars has gone into administration.

Founded in 1983, the company specialised in sports cars, namely Lotus Seven replica kits. The company was also known for its autonomous Heathrow Pods, which operated at the main London airport’s Terminal 5.

Formed by a former historic Formula One racer and engineer, the manufacturer has produced several notable models, including the V8-powered SEiGHT. Since its establishment it has sold approximately 13,000 cars.

Westfield Sports Cars also owned Westfield Autonomous Vehicles, along with Chesil – a company known for its Porsche 356 replicas. Both subsidiaries have met the same fate, falling into administration.

As reported by Autocar, the manufacturer’s records showed that it was in the red by around $AU3 million at the end of 2021, which didn’t include the $AU2 million owed to its parent companies.

These companies, Westfield Technology Group and Potenza Enterprises Ltd, have not been listed in the administration.
