√2022 Kia Cerato recalled in Australia

The fault could cause owners to operate the jack in an “inappropriate” manner, according to the recall notice.

Kia Australia has recalled 1694 examples of its 2022 Kia Cerato, citing a potential fault with the safety information on its vehicle jack.

The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “The label with the required safety information and instructions may not have been affixed to the vehicle jack as required. This may result in inappropriate use of the vehicle jack.

“If the vehicle jack is used inappropriately, the raised vehicle may fall. This would increase the risk of serious injury or death to anyone under or near the vehicle.

“The supplied jack may not be compliant with the mandatory standard for vehicle jacks, AS/NZS 2693:2007.”
