√2023 Audi E-Tron facelift previewed
The updated Audi E-Tron electric vehicle has been teased with photos of a prototype in vibrant “camouflage” wrap.
The changes to the 2023 Audi E-Tron electric SUV are so subtle the German car maker has released teaser images highlighting the updates in fluorescent orange.
In an attempt to drum up excitement for its updated E-Tron – due later this year or early next – Audi has published a series of photos depicting a lightly ‘camouflaged’ prototype.
Visual updates are expected to be minor, including different accents in the front bumper, and a new grille that appears to be similar to the smaller Audi Q4 E-Tron electric SUV. The wheels are also expected to be redesigned.
Further changes are expected under the skin, where reports from 2021 suggest a larger battery pack will be fitted to boost driving range, aided by more efficient electric motors and revised electronic systems.
Rumours suggest the updated model may offer “more than 600km” of driving range in official lab testing – an improvement of more than 50 per cent compared to the current model, which offers up to approximately 450km in ideal conditions and in its most efficient form.
The mid-life update is designed to keep the E-Tron fresh in showrooms until the arrival of its successor, the Q8 E-Tron, due in 2026 on a dedicated electric-car platform shared with other Audi and Porsche electric vehicles.
Some reports have suggested the current E-Tron will switch to the Q8 E-Tron name for its facelift – but this is yet to be confirmed, and Audi’s media materials continue to refer to the facelifted model as ‘E-Tron’ only.
The 2023 Audi E-Tron is expected to be revealed in the coming months, ahead of first European deliveries next year. Australian launch timing is yet to be confirmed.
