√‘Fast & Furious’ star weds in movie cars

The actor best known for playing Mia Toretto in the iconic car-themed film franchise has paid tribute to the movie that shot her to fame during her recent wedding.

One of the original cast from the Fast & Furious movie franchise has used a number of vehicles from the film series as part of her wedding, it has been revealed.

Actor Jordana Brewster – best known as the sister of key character Dom Toretto (played by Vin Diesel) and the love interest of the film’s Brian O’Conner (played by Paul Walker) – was seen celebrating her marriage to US financial executive Mason Morfit with the three movie cars, according to Stars and Their Cars.

Brewster and Morfit drove the same blue four-door 1994 Honda Integra – badged as an Acura in the US, and complete with a front end swapped from a Japanese-market model – that her character Mia Toretto drove in The Fast and The Furious, the 2001 film that shot her to international fame.

Though not one of the key vehicles in the movie, Mia shows off her driving skills to O’Conner in the Integra in a brief movie scene following their first date together, after asking “do you want to go for a drive?”

While the original movie car is understood to have been written off in an accident shortly after the first film was shot, the replica used in Brewster’s wedding has decals depicting the two characters on the two front side windows – just in case those looking at the car are having trouble placing it.

The two other vehicles used in the wedding celebrations were Dom’s 1993 Mazda RX-7 from the first movie, and Mia’s 2003 Honda NSX from the fourth movie in the franchise, 2009’s Fast & Furious, which also made an appearance in the 2011 sequel Fast Five.

Brewster is set to star in the next film in the franchise, Fast X, to be released in cinemas in 2023, and followed by the series’ finale in 2024 – which could feature the late Paul Walker’s character returning to the screen.
