√Polestar to open a store at Melbourne’s Chadstone Shopping Centre

Polestar will soon join Tesla with a store inside a major Melbourne shopping centre.

Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne’s south-east will soon be home to electric-car specialist Polestar, with a shopfront in the same complex as Tesla.

Polestar – owned by Chinese conglomerate Geely, which also owns Volvo and Lotus – has announced it will open ‘Polestar Space’ at the end of this year, with a final date to be confirmed.

While the new Chadstone store isn’t the first retail location from Polestar – with locations in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Hobart – it is considered to be the first permanent ‘Space’ from the brand in Australia.

Despite being located in the shopping centre, prospective buyers will be able to take Polestar vehicles on a test drive in the local area.

The Swedish electric-car brand joins rival Tesla at Chadstone, which is the largest shopping centre in Australia and said to be the second largest in the Southern Hemisphere.

As with Tesla, Polestar only sells cars at non-negotiable fixed prices, with customers encouraged to buy directly from the company’s website..

Polestar says the retail outlet will be open seven days a week, with an opening date to be announced in the future.
