√2023 LDV Mifa price and specs

China’s LDV has launched the Mifa people mover with seven seats and eventually petrol or electric power – but prices start $22,500 higher then the G10 Wagon it replaces, at $53,990 drive-away.

  • 2023 LDV Mifa pricing and specifications
  • Petrol power and seven seats initially, electric to follow
  • Advanced safety standard across the range
  • Priced from $53,990 drive-away

The 2023 LDV Mifa people mover has arrived in Australia priced from $53,990 drive-away – $22,500 more than the previous-generation model it replaces.

LDV’s rival for the top-selling Kia Carnival, the Mifa (known as the G90 in China) replaces the ageing G10 Wagon people mover, and launches in three petrol model grades ahead of an electric Mifa 9’s arrival within the coming weeks.

Prices start from $53,990 drive-away, which is $22,500 dearer than the previous entry-level G10 Wagon – but the new model is larger, far better equipped, and fitted with a suite of advanced safety features not available on the old G10.

The most expensive model costs $72,990 drive-away – making it the most expensive car from a Chinese car brand ever sold in Australia. A Kia Carnival V6 petrol costs $51,690 to $69,890 drive-away.

The Mifa is the first LDV model to carry a new seven-year/200,000km warranty – up from five years and 130,000km of coverage on the brand’s other models. It’s unclear for now if this will spread across the LDV line-up.

All Mifa models are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, sending 160kW and 360Nm to the front wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

It quotes a combined fuel consumption figure of 9.3 litres per 100 kilometres, with a 75-litre fuel tank.

The Mifa measures 5280mm long, 1998mm wide and 1845mm tall, on a 3200mm wheelbase – 165mm longer overall, 3mm wider, 70mm taller and 110mm longer between the wheels than a Kia Carnival.

Standard features on the entry-level Mifa Mode include 18-inch wheels, auto LED headlights, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay (but no Android Auto), a 7.0-inch instrument display, faux leather seat trim, keyless entry and start, six speakers, and auto climate control.

All models are launch are seven seaters, with two seats up front, two in the middle and three at the rear. An eight-seat version is due early next year.

A suite of advanced safety features is standard across the range, including autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and traffic sign recognition.

In contrast to the previous G10 Wagon – which offered no advanced safety technology, and offered only two airbags – seven airbags are standard in the Mifa, including one between the front seats, like the Hyundai Staria (but not the Kia Carnival).

The 2023 LDV Mifa is on sale now.
