√Top Five: Best (and worst) Christmas-themed car videos of 2022

It’s the one time of the year we can come together, eat a meal, and make fun of the latest Christmas videos from car companies.

Each year, families gather to exchange presents, share a meal, and fall asleep in front of a television rerun of Elf or Love Actually.

It’s also the time of the year when there isn’t much automotive news hitting the wires.

So, once again, for your benefit, we have compiled the top five Christmas-themed car videos for 2022, which includes both the best and the worst from around the globe.

The Grinch steals Christmas

The folks at the Hennessey Performance tuning firm in the US are back with another Christmas video for 2022, this time featuring Dr Seuss character The Grinch stealing a Christmas tree in an 895kW/1223Nm Mustang GT500, and hitting almost 310km/h in the process.

For Mrs Hayes

Is someone cutting onions in here? Another Christmas, another tear-jerker from US car giant Chevrolet, with the five-minute film showing the special place cars can have in our lives.

Take a trip

The marketing executives and advertising agents over at Mercedes-Benz appear to have been licking the floor again, because it’s the only explanation as to how they got to this video. Electric concept cars, a vintage W123 wagon for some reason, and costumes created by first-year university students trying to make a statement (we assume) – it’s all a bit confusing.

Real life slot cars

British auction house Girardo & Co has once again come through with the goods, producing easily the best Christmas video of 2022. This year a pair of slot-car Subarus come to life at the stunning Anglesey Circuit on the coast of Wales. It’s a superb film. Worth a look while your Christmas lunch/dinner/leftovers digest.

Christmas tradition

How many times does something need to happen for it to be considered a tradition? Because this is the third year Audi has recycled its Christmas video, deleting the previous year’s video from YouTube and inserting its latest electric concept into a scene with Hipster Santa Claus.
