√Cadillac busted offering test drives at Tesla charging stations in China
Images have emerged showing US luxury-car brand Cadillac trying to lure customers from Tesla’s charging stations in China.
US luxury-car brand Cadillac is hoping to lure Tesla owners by offering free test drives of its electric SUV while their vehicles are being recharged.
According to Twitter user Jay in Shanghai (via CarBuzz), Cadillac’s sales team was spotted at a Tesla Supercharger station in China, approaching owners for test drives in the brand’s new Lyriq electric vehicle.
“Competition is great but this is Tesla’s territory,” Jay in Shanghai wrote on the social media platform.
“Shameless cold calling by Cadillac,” they added.
The Cadillac Lyriq is one of Tesla’s main rivals in China, with consumers often favouring Western luxury brands.
Drive first reported Cadillac’s interest in the Australian market in July 2022, but it appears as if the brand is making moves to relaunch in Australia.

The Lyriq looks set to spearhead Cadillac’s return to Australia, with a right-hand-drive prototype being caught on camera in Detroit months after General Motors trademarked the model name in Australia.
Cadillac will have an uphill battle if it wants to compete against Tesla in Australia.
The Tesla Model 3 was the third highest selling vehicle in February 2023, behind only the Ford Ranger and Toyota HiLux.
