√Video: BYD’s electric supercar can jump on the spot, drive on three wheels
Chinese electric-car maker BYD has shown its new supercar performing some cool party tricks, thanks to its air suspension system.
Chinese car giant BYD is set to show off its new electric supercar to the public next week, debuting a new suspension system with some attention-grabbing tricks up its sleeve.
In the lead up to the Shanghai motor show, the BYD YangWang U9 has been shown dancing and jumping on the spot on stage – as shown in a video posted to YouTube – in a demonstration of the power of its air suspension.
Another video of the BYD YangWang U9 shows the supercar driving on just three wheels – a feat previously seen on the Citroen DS luxury car back in 1954.

The suspension is part of the so-called ‘DiSus System’ – which BYD claims is the “most advanced vehicle body control system of the industry globally”.
The YangWang U9 is powered by four electric motors producing a combined 820kW and 1680Nm – enough to send it to 100km/h from a standstill in a claimed two seconds.
While the U9’s battery specifications have yet to be announced, Chinese media reports suggest the supercar will be able to travel up to 700 kilometres on a single charge.
