√2018 Ford Endura recalled due to brake fluid leak
The Ford Endura SUV’s brake lines could leak brake fluid, increasing the risk of drivers losing stopping power.
Ford Australia has recalled 1811 examples of its 2018 Endura SUV, after discovering the since-departed model’s brake hoses could leak brake fluid.
Ford sold just 3320 Enduras in Australia between late 2018 and early 2021, with the recall affecting more than half of the examples of the SUV sold in local showrooms.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “Due to a manufacturing defect, brake fluid may leak from the front brake flexible hoses. This could cause the brake fluid warning light to illuminate and may result in reduced braking efficiency.
“Reduced brake efficiency could increase the risk of an accident and injury or death to vehicle occupants or other road users.
