√Lexus increases prices by almost $2000 on select models

Prices have increased for three of the four most popular Lexus models in Australia, though a handful of flagship variants are now less expensive due to Luxury Car Tax changes.

Lexus Australia has adjusted the prices across three models in local showrooms, with the changes varying from reductions of more than $800 to increases nearing $2000.

The price rises affect three of the most popular Lexus models in Australia – the NX and UX SUVs, as well as the ES sedan.

The Lexus ES has undergone the largest price increase across the board, with its petrol-only ES250 grades (Luxury and F Sport) going up by $520 each, while the petrol-hybrid ES300h variants (Luxury, F Sport and Sports Luxury) are now $1990 dearer.

With these increases, the Lexus ES250 Luxury is now priced from $62,140 plus on-road costs, with the flagship ES300h Sports Luxury starting from $80,170 plus on-road costs.

The Lexus NX mid-size SUV – the Japanese marque’s best-selling model in Australia – has undergone the second-largest price increase, though certain grades have experienced a price cut, owing to recent changes to the Luxury Car Tax (LCT) threshold.

The smallest increase has been handed down to the entry-level Lexus NX250 petrol front-wheel drive – now $62,275 plus on-road costs, up $375 – while all NX350h hybrid variants are now $850 dearer.

Both the non-hybrid Lexus NX350 AWD F Sport and flagship NX450h+ AWD F Sport Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) have had their prices cut – by $680 and $475, respectively – due to changes to the LCT threshold from 1 July 2023.

Finally, the UX – the third best-selling Lexus in Australia, behind the RX and NX – has had a $500 price increase applied to its hybrid UX250h variants, though the petrol-only UX200 and electric UX300e Luxury grades are unchanged.

There has also been a price reduction of $825 for the flagship electric Lexus UX300e Sports Luxury, also due to the LCT threshold changes.

Drive has contacted Lexus Australia to confirm whether the changes affect orders placed before the prices were adjusted.
