√Next Nissan Patrol to be previewed by luxury twin concept on 17 August
Nissan’s luxury off-shoot Infiniti is unveiling a concept of its new-generation QX80 next week – providing a first look at what to expect from the next-generation Patrol.
The next-generation Nissan Patrol will be previewed by the Japanese car-maker’s luxury off-shoot Infiniti next week, following the release of a teaser image for a new concept SUV.
The Nissan Patrol has been twinned under the skin with the Infiniti QX80 since both models launched in 2010, with an overdue update reportedly on the cards within the next 12 months.
In a media statement, Infiniti announced its plans to reveal the ‘QX Monograph’ concept SUV on August 17 (US time) at the Monterey Car Week in California – which will preview the design of the new QX80 – while sharing a teaser image of the model’s grille (above).

While we have seen heavily camouflaged photos of the Infiniti QX80 testing recently, there has been no indication of what the Nissan Patrol will look like – only that it will likely launch after its luxury twin.
As previously reported, overseas publications have claimed the new-generation Nissan Patrol and Infiniti QX80 will no longer be powered by petrol V8 engines, instead following the lead of the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series by switching to twin-turbo V6 power.
Similar to the LandCruiser, the reports have suggested the twin-turbo V6 – which is claimed to be a 3.5-litre unit – will produce more power and torque than the current 5.6-litre non-turbo petrol V8, which develops 298kW and 560Nm.
The 2024 Infiniti QX80 is expected to be revealed in late 2023 or early 2024, with the new-generation Nissan Patrol to follow.
