√The electric car without a waiting list in Australia
Don’t want to wait for a Tesla? Jump the queue. This electric car might be of interest – and is ready to go.
The Volkswagen-owned performance brand Cupra has slashed waiting times for its Born electric car after ramping up production and receiving extra shipments.
While most electric cars on sale in Australia have waiting lists ranging from six months to two years, the Cupra Born is now effectively in “free supply”, with almost immediate delivery.
“When Spain saw the demand for the Cupra Born in Australia … they turned the taps on for us,” said Cupra Australia spokesman Dan DeGasperi.
“We are now at a point the car is generally in ‘free supply’.
“Customers can go online and look up our stock locator and, depending on the colour and trim, can generally take delivery within two weeks.
“There’s a lot of ships coming with a lot of Cupra Borns on them.”
Priced from $59,990 plus on-road costs, the Cupra Born is the second most popular model for the start-up brand in Australia.
