√Video: Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato launches over big jump, lands undamaged

While it won’t be winning any World Rally Championship events, the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato appears to take jumps in its stride.

When Lamborghini revealed the Huracan Sterrato – a high-riding, off-road version of its low-slung V10 supercar – the expectation was it would give owners slightly more ground clearance than the standard vehicle, while being capable of running on smooth dirt trails.

However, as always, someone on the internet had to take things to another level by jumping their new Lamborghini – and somehow land the supercar without any major damage.

In a video uploaded to YouTube, Mark McCann – a British automotive blogger and off-road racer – was apparently pressured into taking the Huracan Sterrato over a jump on his self-made dirt track, after a previous video led to comments calling for him to take things up a notch.

After nine minutes of showing off the Lamborghini’s off-road capabilities, he goes over the jump and the supercar’s nose starts to dive while in the air, resulting in a reasonably solid impact against the ground when it lands.

Despite giving McCann a serious jolt, a brief walk around the Lamborghini shows it is without any major damage on the surface, though the owner isn’t willing to give the jump another go.

While there were questions about whether owners of the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato and its high-riding rival – the Porsche 911 Dakar – would actually take their expensive vehicles off road, McCann’s video is the latest example of the models being used for their purpose.

As reported last month, a father-son duo in Australia crossed the Simpson Desert in a Porsche 911 Dakar, raising more than $130,000 for Motor Neurone Disease research in the process.
