√For sale: Four wrecked GR Corolla hot hatches
Four near-new Toyota GR Corolla hot hatches have come up for auction in the US and are expected to sell for a bargain price. There is just one catch.
Just because you can afford a fast car doesn’t necessarily mean you know how to drive one.
Joining the list of epic fails found online for the Ford Mustang and other sports-cars is a quartet of Toyota GR Corolla hot hatches, one of the most in-demand cars among enthusiasts so far this year.
Four wrecked Toyota GR Corollas have emerged for sale across various salvage yards in the US.
The badly damaged hot hatches are set to be auctioned between the Copart and IAAI websites.
Listed on IAAI are a pair of GR Corolla Core variants finished in black.
With 11,646km on the odometer, the auction site says this GR Corolla sustained frontal damage in a collision.
It’s also noted the airbags are still intact, and the car will run and drive as is.
The second black example listed on IAAI is reported to have suffered primary frontal damage, as well as secondary damage on the left and right sides.
This car was wrecked with 11,952km on the odometer, and airbags appear to have been deployed.
The auction site has listed the GR Corolla’s status as stationary, meaning it isn’t in running condition.
The two wrecked GR Corollas listed on Copart are finished in white and are also both entry-level Core variants.
With just 3,009km on the odometer, the first of the two has taken a massive impact at the front end.
irbags have been deployed inside this car, and a biohazard sticker has been placed on the front left, and rear right windows.
The second GR Corolla listed on Copart has covered 8,618km and is missing all of its front body panels.
Despite this, the images show the interior airbags have not been deployed, and the car is listed under “running and driving”.
Toyota’s GR Corolla was first launched in Australia in March 2023, landing solely in GTS form.
It pairs a turbocharged 1.6-litre three-cylinder engine with a six-speed manual transmission and an all-wheel drive system.
This turbocharged engine produces 221kW and 370Nm, and Toyota claims it can hit 100km/h from a standstill in 5.3-seconds.
