√Porsche-backed start-up creates artificial intelligence tool for mechanics – report
Artificial intelligence may soon be coming to a mechanic’s workshop near you, and it could be thanks, in part, to Porsche.
Porsche has partnered with US investment firm UP.Partners to launch a new business, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help mechanics to diagnose and repair cars.
The start-up, named Sensigo, predicts its platform will eventually be able to predict problems before they occur, according to a report from news outlet Reuters.
The AI software is expected to streamline maintenance and repairs to vehicles, reducing the cost to customers while improving profits for businesses.
Sensigo is the second of six start-ups being created with backing from Porsche and UP.Partners in the ‘mobility’ space.

It’s not the first time AI has been applied in the industry to make improvements.
In June 2023, Jeep said it was trialling AI to help its vehicles get through challenging off-road courses.
In February 2023, a Chinese company called DriveGPT – which boasts financial backing from Great Wall Motors – said it was using AI to create autonomous driving technology, using information gathered from how humans drive.
