√Video: Brisbane mechanic takes luxury sports car for joyride
Dash cam footage has emerged of a hooning mechanic taking a customer’s Audi for a joyride after bringing it in for a roadworthy check.
Video of a mechanic taking an Audi S5 for a joyride has emerged – with the footage posted on a Facebook page, Dash Cam Owners Australia.
The owner gave the luxury vehicle – worth more than $100,000 when new – to the mechanic for a routine roadworthy check.
After seeing the dashcam footage, the man took to social media and stated on Facebook: “Brought my Audi S5 into [a] small mechanic in Brisbane for roadworthy.
“He took it home for the night and did lots of joyrides with friends and family … 102km in a 50 zone.”
The hooning mechanic can be seen driving at dangerous speeds through the suburban streets of Wooloowin – a suburb approximately six kilometres northeast of Brisbane.
In the video, two men can be heard talking with the passenger asking: “You’d probably go to jail with that speed, wouldn’t you? To which the mechanic responded, “I don’t know”.
It has not been specified when this incident happened, with the dashcam recording stating it was in 2021 – while the video was uploaded to the Facebook page on 14 November 2023.
Users on the social media page were quick to add their opinions , with one user saying, “name and shame,” while another stated: “not the smartest cookies, what’s that a dash cam”.
