√2015-2023 Volvo XC90 recalled due to rear seatbelt defect
More than 100 Volvo XC90s are affected by a fault which could lead to the SUV’s rear seatbelts not performing correctly in a crash.
Volvo Australia has recalled 115 examples of its 2015-2023 Volvo XC90, due to a fault which could cause the SUV’s second-row seatbelts to come loose in a crash.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “Due to a manufacturing defect, the second-row seatbelt buckle and lower anchor screw may become loose. As a result, the seatbelt may not operate as intended.
“In the event of a collision if the seatbelt does not operate as intended, the occupant of that seat may not receive the full protection of the seatbelt system and this could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.”

Volvo has advised it will contact affected owners in writing, and has encouraged owners to contact their authorised Volvo dealer to make an appointment to have the repairs carried out, free of charge.
