√2022 Nissan Navara SL Warrior arrives in showrooms

The cut-price version of the Nissan Navara Warrior heavy-duty off-road ute has started arriving in local dealerships. Production has ramped up, but there are still lengthy delays.

The first customer deliveries of the new 2022 Nissan Navara SL Warrior off-road ute are due in the coming weeks as the first 200 vehicles are transported to dealers across the country.

However, despite doubling output at the Melbourne facility that fits the finishing touches – such as off-road suspension, wheels and tyres, a heavy-duty bullbar and extra tow points – lengthy delays are still expected.

“The vehicles have started arriving in showrooms,” Nissan Australia boss Adam Paterson told media during a preview drive of the new Nissan Z Coupe last weekend.

“Just over 200 examples have landed at dealerships across the country, and (we have) ramped up production of both the Pro-4X and SL Navara Warrior.”

The Nissan Australia boss said the local engineering firm which completes the final assembly of the Warrior editions was originally producing between 35 and 38 Navara Warriors a week, and has since increased output to “about 65 a week”.

Nissan dealers across Australia are reporting lengthy waiting times for the updated Navara model, across most model grades – including the basic tradie SL.

“Navara supply is not as strong as we’d like it to be,” said Mr Paterson.

“We are we are taking every single Navara we can source regardless of specification or grade. We are not necessarily opening the floodgates. We’re doing the best we can.”
