√2023 Ineos Grenadier prices rise by up to $13,000, deliveries begin January
Prices across the Ineos Grenadier 4WD range have risen by between $12,000 to $13,000 before the first customer vehicles have been delivered – but buyers who placed an order before November 9 will be protected.
The 2023 Ineos Grenadier – a hardcore four-wheel-drive from UK start-up Ineos Automotive – has been hit with price rises of up to $13,030, but customers in the queue before Tuesday, November 9 will escape the new prices.
Prices have risen across the Grenadier range by between $11,905 and $13,030, depending on model – with the entry-level Utility model now priced from $97,000 plus on-road costs, or more than $100,000 drive-away.
Ineos attributes the price increases to rising material and production costs – and do not coincide with any increases in standard features.
Customers who placed an order before Tuesday 9 November will be protected from the price hikes – but new orders will be faced with the higher prices.
After a three-month delay, Ineos Grenadier production began in France mid last month, with the first customer deliveries now due to begin in Australia at the beginning of 2023, according to Ineos (rather than late 2022 as announced before the production delay).
Orders placed today are expected to be built early in the second half of 2023, according to Ineos Australia – suggesting delivery in the final months of next year, or about 12 months from now.
As reported, the Ineos Grenadier has been exempted from thousands of dollars in Luxury Car Tax, after the Australian Tax Office (ATO) ruled it is not a luxury car “for tax purposes” due to its “design, engineering and capability,” Ineos said in a notice to customers in July.
As a result, buyers are estimated to save between $4174, and more than $18,000 – as all models were above the Luxury Car Tax threshold for non-fuel efficient vehicles of $71,849 (before on-road costs, but inclusive of delivery charges).
Ineos will sell its vehicles in Australia at non-negotiable fixed prices, displayed across a network of 28 showrooms.
