√2013-2018 Volvo XC60, S60, V60 and V40 recalled in Australia
The fault could cause air to be trapped in the car’s cooling system, potentially leading to engine damage, according to the recall notice.
Volvo Australia has recalled 376 examples of its 2013-2018 Volvo S60, V60, XC60 and V40 models, citing a potential fault with vehicles’ cooling systems.
The recall affects certain examples built by Volvo between 1 August 2013 and 1 December 2018, expanding on a 2020 recall which impacted the Volvo S60, V60 and XC60 – excluding the V40.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “If the cooling system has to be refilled, air may become trapped in the cooling system which might result in insufficient cooling of the engine components.
“Insufficient cooling may result in damages to engine components and may cause a fire in the engine bay.
“A fire in the engine bay increases the risk of an accident and injury or death to the vehicle occupants and other road users.”

Volvo Australia said it is contacting affected owners in writing to request that owners make an appointment to have their vehicles repaired.
