√2018-2021 Audi Q7 and Q8 recalled due to fuel tank fault
A fuel tank fault in the Audi Q7 and Audi Q8 SUVs could cause a sudden loss of power and trigger a crash.
Audi Australia has recalled 660 examples of its 2018-2021 Q7 and Q8 luxury SUVs – priced from $108,200 before on-road costs – because of a fault in the fuel tank that could cause a sudden loss of engine power and trigger a crash.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel delivery unit inside the fuel tank may break. If this occurs it could result in the broken pieces damaging the fuel delivery system.
“This may cause a sudden loss of motive power.
“Note: This issue may cause the emission control system warning lamp to light up.
“If the vehicle loses motive power, it may lead to the risk of a crash resulting in serious injury or death to occupants or other road users.”
