√2023 SsangYong Torres EVX electric SUV detailed, 500km of driving range
The Torres EVX will launch with a claimed electric driving range of between 420 and 500 kilometres. An Australian launch is expected.
Specifications of the 2023 SsangYong Torres EVX have been published less than a month after the electric SUV was unveiled.
SsangYong – which is rebranding as KG Mobility in South Korea – says the Torres EVX will be powered by a 73.4kWh battery pack sourced from Chinese electric-car giant BYD, powering a 150kW electric motor on the front axle.
The company says the Torres EVX is good for 500km of claimed driving range based on the WLTP test cycle, though the South Korean Government’s own testing resulted in 420km of driving from a single charge.
The Torres EVX will be offered in two variants: the E5, which comes with a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, power-adjustable seats, dual-zone climate control, an electric tailgate, heat pump, LED headlights, automatic wipers, electric mirrors, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The range-topping E7 spec adds a leather interior, keyless entry, heated rear seats, and plastic cladding on the exterior.

Both models get lane-keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, and a reversing camera as standard.
In Korea, the Torres EVX E5 is priced from ₩50 million ($AU57,000), while the E7 is priced from ₩52 million ($AU59,000).
The 2023 SsangYong Torres EVX is expected to launch in Europe in the second half of the year, with an Australian debut is also on the cards – potentially under the KG Mobility banner.
